Overview
A compliance profile is a named set of required codes, tariff numbers, export control codes, or both, that products in a project must carry. Assign one to a project and traideCompliance tracks progress against it, highlighting what's still missing at a glance.
Profiles are created once in Settings and applied to any project, new or existing. Every project must have one, but the choice is always yours — nothing is preselected silently.
How to use compliance profiles:
1. Create a profile
Go to Settings and scroll to Compliance Profiles.
Click + New Profile.
Give it a name (e.g. EU Basis, Full EU + Export, Import Team).
Select the required codes and save.
2. Assign a profile to a project
New project — select a profile when creating the project.
Existing project — open Project Settings and choose a profile in the Compliance Profile field.
No requirements is a valid choice — the project will then be excluded from compliance statistics.
3. Track progress
Product list — the Compliance Codes column shows all required codes. Missing codes are highlighted in blue.
Product detail — highlighted cards show exactly what's still missing and where to click to resolve it.
4. Update a profile
Open Project Settings at any time to switch the profile. All indicators update immediately.
Frequently asked questions:
What happens to my existing projects?
All existing projects are automatically assigned the No requirements profile. Nothing changes in how they display or count.
Can I change a project's profile after assigning it?
Yes — open Project Settings at any time. Compliance indicators update immediately.
Can I create multiple profiles for different project types?
Yes. Create as many as you need in Settings and apply the right one per project.
Does switching to a stricter profile affect past classifications?
No. It surfaces more outstanding to-dos but doesn't alter any existing code decisions.
