Overview

On the right side of step 3 you will find the „Trade implications" section. Based on the selected tariff number, relevant duty and tax information as well as prohibitions and restrictions are displayed directly. This view is important for all relevant information in both import and export.

The Trade Implications card shows you the duty rates, anti-dumping duties, quotas, suspensions, prohibitions, and CBAM flags that apply to a tariff number based on the product's country of origin — right where you're already working.

What you'll see on the card

Once you've set a country of origin and a country of import, the Trade Implications card displays:

Duties

  • Customs preferences — the preferential duty rate, if one applies based on the country of origin

  • Third-country duty rate — the standard duty rate that applies otherwise

Taxes

  • Import VAT — the applicable VAT rate for the product

Prohibitions and restrictions

  • Flags such as EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) and CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), with a link out to more detail where relevant

Measures are also labeled with an import/export direction and their nomenclature type, so you can tell at a glance whether a measure applies to importing or exporting, and which code system it's defined under.

How to use it

  1. Set the Country of origin. This is the key driver for the card - duties, anti-dumping measures, and CBAM all key off the country of origin. Without an origin set, only general measures will show.

  2. Set the Country of import, if you want to see measures specific to the importing country.

  3. Review the applicable measures in the card — duties, taxes, and any prohibitions or restrictions.

You can also jump to Access2Markets directly from the card for the underlying source data, which is linked inline to the related TARIC measures.

  • Origin drives everything. Duties, anti-dumping measures, and CBAM all depend on the country of origin. If no origin is set, you'll only see general measures.
