What can the feature do?
With Export Control Classification (ECC) in traide AI, you can check whether your products fall under the EU Dual-Use Regulation.
The feature is fully integrated into the compliance platform and appears in the classification workflow as an additional card called “Classification (Dual-Use)” below tariff classification.
With this feature, you can:
Check whether products are subject to export control
Quickly document “Not Listed” (negative classifications)
Analyze complex cases with the support of Alice (AI)
Save or export results, including full documentation
The ECC feature helps you quickly answer the key question:
👉 Is my product subject to export control or not?
And if things get more complex, Alice guides you safely through the process.

How does it work?
1. Open a product
Go to the compliance platform and open a product.
Prerequisite: The product must already be created.
In step 3 of the summary, you will find the card “Classification (Dual-Use)”.
2. Make an initial assessment
You have several options:
Not Listed: For most products (quick and easy)
Manual classification: If you already know the correct classification
Use correlation: If there is a link to tariff classification
Analyze with Alice: For complex or unclear cases
3. Start a deep dive with Alice (optional)
Click “Classify with Alice”.
→ A new view opens (in a separate tab).
You will work in three areas:
Left: Review and enrich product data (e.g. PDFs, images, text)
Center: Guided 4-step classification workflow
Right: Documents and evidence for full transparency
4. Apply the result
At the end, you can:
Download the result as a PDF
Or click “Apply” → the result is saved in the platform
Who can use this feature?
The feature is available as an add-on for the compliance platform
Currently supports EU Dual-Use classification
Must be activated for your company by the traide team
Note:
All compliance customers currently have access to the correlation table in step 3. This is based on the official correlation directory and is included as a standard feature.
